WORLD PREMIERE!! Knightly Fighting Arts: A Fight Book from a Knight of Malta
Monday, November 4, 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. and Tuesday, November 5 9:00 a.m - 3:30 p.m.
Instructor: Francesco Loda
This two day workshop will explore the first known treatise written by a Knight of Malta in 1691. Through this manual, it is now possible to understand how fencing and horse riding were taught within this historic and noble order.
Together, we will discuss what it meant to be a Knight of Malta: the commitments, authority, duties, and responsibilities that went along with this prestigious title. Additionally, we will examine this treatise to unlock the fundamentals of single sword as well as rapier/dagger. Theory, practice, and distinctive actions of each will be explored and demonstrated. We will take a look at the tactics that this Knight recommends, so that finally, we can understand how to apply these teachings to the modern HEMA environment.
Required Equipment: Light rapier/sidesword/sword & dagger gear
**Please note: this seminar is not included in the All Inclusive Tournament Pass. Participants much register for this seminar separately.
